TV: The Cleveland Show

Fox has a new animated series called The Cleveland Show.  It's a spin-off from the popular series, The Family Guy.  It premiered last month.  I'm not really big on animation but I will be checking out this show when I have time.  If anyone has seen this show wants want to leave a comment to let people know your opinion, please feel free.  This show is somewhat interesting to me because the only adult animation series I know of starring Black characters is Boondocks.

Airing Time: Sundays, 9:30/8:30c

Synopsis: The series features the adventures of Peter Griffin's neighbor Cleveland Brown. Many years ago, Cleveland made a promise to his old high school sweetheart, Donna. Cleveland, along with Cleveland Junior, move to Stoolbend, VA to start a new life with Donna and her two children.

Voices:  Mike Henry, Sanaa Lathan, Reagan Gomez-Preston, Kevin Michael Richardson, Seth MacFarlane, Jamie Kennedy

TV-Review: Sherri (sneak-sneak peek)

I caught the  sneak-sneak peek of Sherri on Lifetime  Network.  I say sneak-sneak peek  because to my surprise, it aired at 10 a.m. this morning.  I usually catch Sopranos on A&E at 8 a.m. followed by some Frasier on Lifetime.  And so just when I rolled over to go back to  sleep, I hear Sherri Shepherd and Malcolm-Jamal Warner’s voices.  And of course I’m thinking it’s a commercial  until the scenes kept on going.  I  checked the Lifetime  Network website and they didn’t even promote this airing time which I  thought was pretty clever.

The comedy  series stars Shepherd as a single mother who splits her time between working as  a paralegal and a part-time comedienne.   She is handling a recent divorce from her cheating husband (played by  Malcolm-Jamal Warner) and is steadily inching her way back into the dating  scene.  Sherri is produced by Lifetime Television  and also is the first comedy series to be solely owned by Lifetime.  Shepherd will continue her hosting bit on  “The View” while also serving as the co-executive producer and consultant for  the show.
